The Goodwin Library is a public library that serves as an information center for the personal, cultural, and social growth for the community of Farmington. The Library maintains collections and implements programs that address the community’s changing informational and recreational needs for education and literacy. The collections, materials, and programs are offered in a variety of formats to ensure equitable access for all. The Library believes that free and open access to information and resources will establish the framework for an informed and involved community.
New Hours!
Starting November 7, our Thursday hours will be changing from 11:00am-5:00pm. All other hours will stay the same.
Our hours from November through April will be as follows:
Mon: 10:00 – 5:00
Tues: 1:00 – 7:00
Thurs: 11:00 – 5:00
Fri: 10:00 – 5:00
Sat: 10:00 – 2:00
Sun/Wed: Closed

Watercolors for Kids – Tuesday, 11/26 – Homeschool & After-school sessions
This month, we’re painting dinosaur families!
This program is for ages 6-10.

Thanksgiving closing – November 28 and 29
The library will be closed November 28 and 29 in observance of Thanksgiving.
We will be open again on Saturday, November 30.

Gingerbread House Contest Kit Pickup Starts 12/2!
The competition is now underway!
Registered participants can pick up their kits starting Monday, 12/2. Please complete your house and email us a photo by Thursday, 12/7.
Voting will begin Monday, 12/9. Winners will be announced 12/16. Good luck!!
Tween Craft: Jewelry Making! Tuesday, 12/3 at 4:00pm

Meditation Therapy – Tues. 12/3 and Tues. 12/17 at 5:30pm
Learn to ease and manage the stress of everyday life during 15-minute meditation sessions. This month’s meditations focus on mood-related coping mechanisms.

Join us for our annual holiday story time!
We’ll read festive stories, sing carols, and enjoy cookies and cocoa.

All-Ages Ornament Night – Tuesday, 12/10 from 4:30-6:00pm
Join us to make home made ornaments!
Go from station to station creating different kinds of festive ornaments. There will also be a wreath making station!
Open to all ages, from children to adults!

Caregiver Café – Friday, 12/13 at 1:00pm
Are you caring for a chronically ill or disabled loved one?
Consider stopping by for Caregiver Café, a support group run by Cornerstone VNA. The group provides conversation and resources to caregivers.
Light refreshments are served.

Homeschool Meet & Greet – Friday 12/13 at 1:00pm
Meet other local homeschooling families!
Share ideas and resources, or just play at the library.
The Bookies Book Club – Tuesday, 12/17 at 7:00pm – In-person or on Zoom

Summary: This book takes all the other self help and find greater meaning in your life books and combines the juiciest pieces of the puzzle. It’s a one stop shop for self improvement and how to navigate life situations. What makes it even more perfect is that it does this with easy to read infographics and pictures, making it a quick read that will make your life better.
Christmas Closing: 12/24-12/26
In observance of Christmas, the library will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, through Thursday, December 26.
We will be open again on Friday, December 27.

We Have a Little Free Library!
Take a book, leave a book!
There are all kinds of books in our little free library! The top shelf has children’s books, the bottom shelf has adult books. Stop by and check it out – it’s right outside our front door!
WIC at the Library
The Goodwin Library is pleased to host Strafford County WIC once a month on Thursdays for their clinics.
If you have an appointment, you can find the WIC clinic in our community room, which is upstairs from the main floor of the library. Elevator access is available.
Don’t hesitate to ask staff for directions – we are happy to help!
